So, I started volunteering in 2016 at Seaton Delaval Hall.

So, it was about a month after when I was asked to be a room guide, and I said yes. I’ve been doing that ever since. I just love talking to people, which is what I found out about myself through being here. And for the different conversations I have with people in. I like to learn more about the history of the place that I grew up at.

But there’s always been that connection with the Hall for me because I’m originally from Seaton Delaval and I grew up on Astley Road. It also means things like, when I was younger, I knew three things about the Hall – there was a fire, there was a Delaval family, and George Delaval fell off his horse.

0:55.4 – 1:11.1 [An animation of a sunflower and its seeds appear]

So, to go from wanting to know the story to in a very small way becoming a part of this story, that feels amazing. And I am lucky to be a part of it.
